They dumped my site
I’v been with yahoo for 2 years, they discontinued the plan I was using out of the blue without letting me know. My site is now gone and I have to re-do it from the scratch! What a poor customer service and company policy!
It’s good for newbies.
I used Yahoo hosting before, but I canceled. They do not support PHP, MySQL, and other stuffs that you need to develop successful websites. The uptime is good and their customer service too, but Yahoo does not offer professional hosting. They are good just for newbies.
Excellent web host
I switched to Yahoo from other web hosting company. They had too many downtimes. Well, the cost here is higher, but to my mind it’s worth it.
I have two sites with Yahoo and both run very well. I didn’t have anything to discuss with support team, so I can’t say a thing about this service. But the fact I didn’t have to deal with them so far is a good factor, isn’t it?
Good webhost
The cPanel is not very comfortable. There are many limitations, on email and PHP mail scripts for instance. Yahoo does have great uptime, though there was a time when their PHP servers were not working for several days. The support is not good.
If you are able to work within these limitations Yahoo is a really wonderful webhost. Their Sitebuilder is brilliant. Yahoo has no problems uploading files.. Yahoo is more expensive, less space and bandwidth than some other hosts. But uptime, speed of loading websites, useable functions is where Yahoo surpasses others.
